Tumataba nga ako pero ayoko mapagod!

Ang sa akin naman, "working out" would not feel like it's "work" if you're enjoying it.

When I was in elementary, palibhasa sa Bataan ako nun, tipong every afternoon pulos laro ginagawa ko from 3-5pm. Andyan na mag-chinese garter, habulan base, patintero, jumping rope, volleyball, o di kaya sasama ako ng tatay ko mag-tennis. Tinatakbo ko pa palagi yun school ko kasi lagi akong late kahit 3 kanto lang ang layo ng bahay namin.

I led a very relaxed lifestyle when I was in high school. All-girls school sa Quezon City na pulos kwentuhan ginagawa namin nun e. But I was part of the theater group so maybe doon nabuhos yun iba kong energy.

Pagdating ng college, I got myself into Indayog sa UP Manila and fell in love with jazz dancing kahit na parehong kaliwa paa ko. Nung mag-transfer ako ng Diliman, bihira ako mag-IKOT na jeep. Lagi lang ako naglalakad sa Acad Oval galing Mass Comm papunta sa kung saan. Hanggang ngayon ganon pa rin gawain ko pag nasa UP ako, kaya di ko alam magkano bayad pag IKOT.

Meron pang panahon na mag-a-attempt akong mag-jog ng Acad Oval with the secondary objective na habulin at makisabay sa mga cute na taga-UP Mountaineers na tumatakbo din. Pantanggal ng boredom. Until I gave up on the idea kasi hindi ko talaga maabutan yun cutie na naka-skimpy shorts and finally concluded that I hate jogging.

After college, so I won't get bored while I was looking for work, I tried mountaineering. Tutal undergrad pa naman ako gusto ko ng gawin yun kaya lang since I was under my parents' wing and they think maraming NPA sa bundok, I had to comply with their rules. Kaya join na lang ako pagka-graduate.

Although malamig sa taas ng bundok, more prone to eating lalo na kung magagaling magluto mga kasama mo. Karamihan pa mga barako kaya yayayain kang uminom. 'Yun tipong walang aayaw hangga't a) di nauubos yun iniinom niyo o b) di ka pa tumutumba sa kalasingan. Eh nung time na yun marunong ako mag-pacing tapos dinadaan ko pa sa kwento--- kaya majority yata ng taba ko galing ng beer, gin, tequila, at vodka. Yun taba ko galing ng rum napulot ko kakasama naman mag-scubadiving. Medyo mahal kaya hininto ko na rin muna.

And may time din when I joined an aerobics class. Nainggit lang ako sa katawan nung instructor. May mga panahon na di ko rin siya masabayan at gusto ko na lang humiga sa sahig.

My weight was also yoyo-ing during this time. Weight goes down when I'm exercising, goes up when I'm lax again. It got worse when I started working permanently inside an office. Ang hilig-hilig sa merienda ng mga tao. Palagi kaming kumakain. From 135 lbs I think I reached 150lbs in just a year na walang ka-effort-effort. Kain lang nang kain.

Think about it and compute: Yun tipong naipon na 1lb a month na weight increase. Hindi mo alam na pag umabot ng one year is equivalent to 12 lbs. Kapag 2 years, 24 lbs!!! Even my friends tell me, "Tumataba ka." People who saw me just two months ago are also saying the same thing. Totally way out of hand!

I said to myself, “It’s time to reverse the process. If I were to work on a 1lb weight loss per month, maybe things would start getting better.”

That was the time I got serious with losing weight. Like... DISISIT!!
